| A early 1930's Original Vogue Hat by Garfunkel. B.J. Garfunkel was chairman of the board of the Vogue Millinery Company and was the first to introduce hats for each of the four seasons rather than just fall and spring. This hat is a true collectors item. The only other one I could locate can be seen at feldmangallery.com. It is made of ostrich feathers in grey-blue hues and has a felt shell with a blue, faux back head tie. It is in excellent condition with some slight wear on the inside shell and at the stems of some of the feathers. I have taken a picture of the stem wear. The feathers do hide the wear on the stems and of course, the wear on the shell is not visible during wear. A rare and absolutely wonderful piece. |
